The Malaysian Finance Ministry has classified Balda Thong-Fook Solutions as

High-Technology-Company. The subsidiary of Balda AG is based on this

decision tax exempt for the following 10 years. The tax rate in Malaysia

nominally amounts to 28 per cent. In the fiscal year 2005 Balda paid

converted 1.3 Million Euros based on a pre-tax-profit of 4.9 Million

Euros. This corresponds to a real tax rate of 26.6 per cent.

Balda employs about 1,400 workers at the production site in Ipoh, with

560.000 inhabitants the third-biggest town of Malaysia. Main areas of the

production are housings for mobile phones as well as development and

production of complete Blue-tooth-headsets.

Balda AG announced on 20.01.2006 the acquisition of the remaining 50 per

cent of the shares in the Malaysian company.
